So what if the Mayan calendar ends 2012, what is so great about it? Every one was scared some thing would happen in 2000 and I'm still alive.
What if the calendar ended 2008? would it really make a difference? Do you really believe this? If you do why?
No, I don't believe this at all. Most of my answer will be copied from my source since I didn't already know this but I tried to sum it up for you. The Mayan calendar doesn't end in 2012. The Mayans had 3 separate calendars:The Haab calendar,The Tzolkin calendar, and the Long Count calendar. The Long Count was used for historical purposes, since it can define any date for millenia in the past and future. The Long Count calendar is the one that people claim is ending in 2012 but it's nonsense since the calendar loops. Once any given cycle ends, another begins, endlessly. The full long count is currently only at baktun 12; there are still 8 baktuns (or about three thousand years) before it turns over and begins again. The current Katun(20 Katuns make up a Baktun) will increment on December 21st, 2012. But there's no reason that date should be any more significant than the year 2000 was when all those crazies thought the world was ending. So in conclusion the Mayan calendar is far from over, when it is over it'll start again, and it's just an ancient calendar which really doesn't affect anyone except the superstitious.

I would like to state that the Bible records at least one pole shift in the past and that such an event is not necessarily cataclysmic. I can also tell you from scripture that there will be at least 1 and possibly 2 pole shifts in the near future and what they will entail and when they may occur. I believe there is a clear indication of the occurrence of a pole shift when Jesus was crucified. This event is recorded in the Gospels.
And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour. 45 And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst. 46 And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost. 47 Now when the centurion saw what was done, he glorified God, saying, Certainly this was a righteous man. (Luke 23:44-47)
What happened here was that while Jesus was on the cross it became dark from noon to 3:00. There is much historical evidence to suggest that this was the result of a pole shift which caused the sun to set at noon. And then at 3:00 the sun came up again. There is also evidence that a world wide earthquake occurred at this time with heaving seas, again indicative of a pole shift. We also know from history that this was not a severe cataclysmic event. See the article entitled The Catastrophe at the Crucifixion AD 33 .As for the future and a 2012 pole shift; I believe that scripture indicates that during the end times there will be at least one and possibly two pole shifts. The first will be at an event known as the rapture, when the Lord Jesus returns to earth to rescue Christians from the persecution of the antichrist. This is clearly recorded in Revelation 6.

I believe that the physical event that is being described here fits the description of what many conjecture will occur at a pole shift. And this seems to be a pretty severe one for it says that every mountain and island will be moved out of their places. An earthquake of this magnitude is sure to do large scale damage. I believe that this event will also most likely occur between 2013 and 2015, for that is when the rapture will most likely take place. The next pole shift is likely to occur at the return of the Lord Jesus Christ to the earth at the battle of Armageddon as described in this passage.
And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done. 18 And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great. 19 And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath. 20 And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found. 21 And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great. (Rev 16:17-21)
This event describes, among other things a horrific worldwide earthquake that levels all the mountains of the world and destroys all the islands. This event is also preceded by horrific changes in the sun. That is the bad news; the good news is that one can escape both of these events by being part of the rapture .BTW, the woo woo aliens are just demons trying to deceive people into believing the lies of the devil and the coming world ruler, the antichrist, to dam people to Hell.
