Seek and Destroy - Asteroid Braille impact 12-21-2012?
Is it comforting to know that any moment could be your last?
What with the potential of Asteroid Impacts(Tunguska event), super volcano eruptions, Nucleur War, Hadron Collider expiriments gone wrong, tsunamis, deadly storms, 2012, and this is to say nothing of ordinary things like accidents in everyday life.
So, is it more invigorating, and does it give life more meaning to know that any moment could be the last, or it depressing to know that one can't be their own decider in all of this?
I think `The Hour' by Sophist pretty much says it all. I wouldn't say it is `comforting' knowing that any moment could be one's last but I'd say it's a realistic view of existence. I've known too many people who thought they had `forever' to do what they wanted or say what they wanted to say. They didn't. And it took no nuclear war nor volcanic eruption nor 2012 to take them out - just the nature of existence. Heraclitus said, "Life is Flux" - one minute you're here and the next you're gone. Wouldn't call it `comforting' but it's the truth.
