2012 film
Just been to see the film 2012 and it was real scary. when i got home i looked up the mayan calender 2012?
saw the film 2012. I looked up the mayan calendar when i got home, there are so many conspiracies regarding this calender. Nasa say that the world will not end in 2012, others say it will. Just got me thinking that we dont know where we came from fact. There are flaws in the bible theory, flaws in the evolution theory, flaws in what killed the dinosaurs and it goes on. So who do we believe with regards to the mayan calendar, again its all based on maybe no hard evidence to support it.
The current mayan calendar does end in 2012, but that doesn't mean anything.
Calendars are used to record the passing of time, not to predict the future.
I have a calendar on my desk in work that ends on the 31st dec 2009, but i don't think the world will end then, i'll just need to get a 2010 calendar.
These wild theories crop up all the time, remember some people got nervous at the end of 1999, but nothing happened there either.
We can't see into the future now and the Mayans certainly couldn't thousands of years ago.
If the world does end in 2012 it will be pure coincidence, but you can be 99.9999999999999999999% it won't.

The End of the World 2012 - Have We Been Conditioned For it?
The End of the World 2012, and thinking back to wonder if we were somehow conditioned for the idea of it. I believe that those movies like Mad Max, Road Warrior were terrific action movies, I also liked That movie with Robin Williams and Walter Mathou 'The Survivors.' It was hilarious and deep.
There were a lot of gruesome zombie films too that revolve the story around Top Secret Government virus and infectious disease are engineered and unleashed on mankind. Some of the scenarios Hollywood can dream up are pretty inventive and intensely detailed.
There was a film called "Outbreak" Dustin Hoffman, Morgan Freeman, Kevin Spacey, an incredible cast with a well written script. Obviously, about an outbreak of a virus that almost wiped out an entire town. It was an intriguing film but scary to the core of too close to a realistic possibility.
Perhaps, that is what made it so frightening. I am also reminded of that old radio show "The War of the worlds," by Orson wells. People actually thought it was real news in place of entertainment and small outbreaks of panic spread.
That is amazing to me. I couldn't really see writing an article about the conditioning through Film, Television, and Radio without mentioning that old "War of the Worlds" broadcast. The point here is that its pretty powerful stuff. It is natural to be somewhat concerned about the coming years and in particular that date, December, 12, 2012.
There could be a realistic disaster caused by the peoples' energies all combined. Everyone so intent on SOMETHING HAPPENING that maybe some will MAKE IT HAPPEN. Not to throw fuel on the fire but there are a lot of crazy people out in this world. What if, I often wonder, a group or organization were to act out using the anticipation of that date as a distraction for a major strike.
If not in real life then maybe it would make a great movie.
I really think we are desensitized by film and entertainment. However I am not so sure it is used to for conditioning, At least, not in the way of 2012 and the end of the world. This new film is an answer by popular demand contributing to an already hyped up frenzy.
There really is a lot of impressive, compelling information considering the end of the world 2012. It is my understanding the more you know about something the better prepared you will be to handle it.
About the Author
I doubt that he will, this film has so many "names" in it and only runs for 90minutes.
No one actor will get a lot of screentime.
