2012 end of world maya
Do you beleive the world will end on December 21,2012?
indigenous people to The Americas the ancient Maya of Mexico had a calender that predicted world events and wrote that the world will end on 12/21/12. When spaniards arrived in America (Anahuac) they were amazed on how the Maya were advanced people
so what are you opinions on this?
Listen to me... the WORLD WILL NOT END!!!
Here's the rub... the Mayan calendar (which consists of bakra'ans) begins its 13th 'new year' or bakra'an if you will around the 21 of Dec 2012. Problem 1: the Mayan calendar is almost like the inside of a clock, it has wheels and sprockets and the like. therefore, we cannot even attempt to equate their calendar with our Roman calendar - it simply doesn't work. SO what's happened is that pseudo-scientists and others with little or no knowledge of Mayan archaeology have done just this and claimed it as truth when it is clearly, blatantly not. Problem 2: the 21/12/12 date is arbitrary cos one, again we cant equate their calendar to ours and secondly, the inscription with the date on the 13th bakra'an on it is cracked down the middle and it hardly legible. Problem 3: the bakra'an is a new year, NOT a 'second coming' or a destruction or a doomsday, its a NEW YEAR. Problem 4: no where in the inscription does it say destruction, end of world or any of that other nonsense, it basically says a new era.
Now, I would trust the archaeologists and scientists of this world. They don't seem too concerned, and by too concerned, i mean not at all. The world has been full of doomsday prophecies since time began, and we are still here. No man-made time keeping device (time which is a man-made concept to begin with) will dictate the end of the world. Please, read up if you will, but read archaeology books by legitimate professionals and NOT pseudo-scientists who don't understand what they're talking about.

2012: Doomsday? Fall of the Aztec Empire: Return of the Serpent God of the Cross. Mayan Calendar
No, they just are caught up in "end times" theology…basing nearly all their belief on the coming of the end times. They believe more in "left behind" than what Jesus said, which amount to we are not going to know when he will return. So, they grasp onto what amounts to "conspiracy theories" about the end of the world.
As a Christian, I feel very uncomfortable about people who say they are Christians but seem only concerned with then the world will end. My Nike's are old.
NO. Coz, the christians or bible does not say that world is going to end in 2012. It is the Mayan calendar which says that. Christian Bible (whoever wrote it) is smart. They never mentioned any date or year, coz when the day comes, they could claim that they predicted it and Jesus said that. If it does not come, then they will say that we never gave any date by when the world will come to an end. SMART RIGHT?
