Smallville: Episode 7.18 "apocalypse" Recap
Smallville’s “Apocalypse” episode started with Clark studying the messages left by Dr. Swann. Chloe arrives and Clark tells her that he’s been warned because Brainiac is getting closer. Chloe realizes Brainiac might be using Kara to go back to the day of the Krypton destruction in order to kill the young Clark . Clark thinks that they can go to the Fortress but he doesn’t want to go, saying that he has already caused so much since he arrived. Chloe puts the key in his hand.
Then Clark wakes up and sees a teenager who claims that he lives there and that his name is Clark Kent . Clark finds Chloe but she doesn’t recognize him. He asks for Chloe’s help in finding Lana but Chloe only introduces him to his fiancé whom she’ll marry on the coming weekend.
Clark then goes to Daily Planet and seeks Jimmy’s help. They discover that Lana is already in Paris , married and with children. Clark is happy that things went well for Lana. Lois arrives and tells him she’s willing to listen if he wants to talk. But before they have the chance to sit down, Kara arrives with a stolen government top secret info.
Kara is identified as Linda Danvers, head of the Department of Domestic Security. Lois gets arrested but Clark saves her. Lois shares her knowledge to Clark , saying that Lex is putting the nation in grave danger. Clark realizes it is him alone who can intervene with Brainiac’s evil plan of destroying the world. Lois encourages him to attend Lex’s press con, lends him a press pass and even gives him eyeglass.
At the press con, Kara attacks and says she’s ordered to kill him. Clark explains to her that the present time has been altered but she won’t listen. She only believes him when Clark says that Fine is Brainiac. Lex shoots Clark with Kryptonite bullets. Brainiac also fires the gun at Clark, and then Clark returns to his real world with Jor-El explaining that Clark had to see what his destiny is.
Then Clark is on the Krypton ordering Brainiac to release Lana. He is successful in placing his baby self in the ship and launching it.
Back on Earth, Lana’s condition doesn’t get any better even though Brainiac is already defeated. Clark researches on coma when Lois arrives to console him. He tells her she’s a good friend. At the kitchen, Kara suddenly feels an overwhelming headache and falls to the ground. About the Author
Who can argue? The Democratic isolationists that say you shouldn't waste good white and black American lives on those barbaric brown people, that's who. We got Katrina to pay for ya know, gotta hoarde the kickbacks for the Klan, not those other “people”.
I wonder how David Duke deals with the fact that he is in agreement with 90% of black people in this nation. He must be an expert in self-hypnosis to deal with the logic dissonance.
The reason why religious people believe in Armageddon is because they feel there must be a point and a purpose to their lives. If there is an anti-Christ, ten we have our alliances set out before us. Christ supporters vs anti-Christ supporters, evil vs good, West vs terrorism, etc. The idea of fundamental conflict in human nature is not religious, it is just human. People might want to pay more attention to the human soul and less to what is quoted in the bible. Religion is only one version of looking at the world, there are many more.
For example, a lot of people believe that there will be an ultimate test. Therefore they believe you should prepare for that test.
This philosophy applies to self-defense, combat, war, business, medicine, science, technology, engineering, and a bunch of other stuff as well.
This “ultimate test” is in fact a fatal test, because if you fail, then you are going to die. All wars are fatality tests. A fight to the death is a test.
Bush should have said that every war is its own Apocalypse. That the bible does not fortell our future because our future is ours to make, not God's. He hath given us the free will to damn or save ourselves. He can do little except shepherd us in our journey. Bush should have said that every Apocalypse can be bypassed, simply by winning and surviving. This War on Terror can be seen as an apocalypse, yes, but do not fall prey to despair for we have triumped before. When despair covered the world during the Holocaust, we defeated evil and we will once again, to safeguard our children from terrorism.
People who say that Bush is damned if he does, damned if he doesn't, don't understand diplomacy, politics, or propaganda.
All conscientious propagandists seek the optimal Catch 22 situation. But that which can be constructed, can also be destroyed by the same means.
Interesting thought. But the link of white garment equating to Jesus is a bit tenuous.
