Does anyone know where I can purchase dried or dehydrated foods (veg., fruits, meats...) in Canada?
The US have many sites, but I am having difficulty finding a site in Canada. I am interested in stocking up in food for Emergency Supplies. Thanking you in advance for your help. Orrilia
If you need them now try your local healthfood store.Also canned goods will last longer.They helped millions during ww2 so why not add them to your list.Remember to check expiration dates and use and replace foods not comsumed by then.Good Luck.

If we take action now, and nothing too serious comes of the Swine Flu virus, than we will still be prepared for any future occurences that could happen.
But just because we have caught this virus earlier than Mexico, doesnt mean its going to be O.K. Honestly, we are right nesxt door to the country, and we havnt done a great job of keeping Mexican immigrants out of our country in the past. And it only takes 1 unknowing victim to spread the Swine Flu virus to a large group of unsuspecting colleagues , classmates, or total strangers in a supermarket.
I am definitely not trying to be someone that tries to scare people, but whenever a society takes something like this too lightly , things can spiral out of control in the blink of an eye. It is our responsibility to take stock of situations like these and make honest assesments.
In the coming weeks we will know for sure if the Swine Flu will become epidemic, pandemic, or nothing more than a slight outbreak. I hope that its the latter. But I really hope that we are all prepared for anything and everything.

My darling wife had a diabetic pointer before she met me. She thinks back to the time and energy that went into that sick dog and shakes her head. (Pouring Karo syrup down the throat of a good size dog in the middle of a fit could not have been any fun.) She loved that dog. It's probably the reason we (she) won't have another one.
I don't pretend to understand why folks think pets are people, but I know that it's true.
On the other hand, my first wife had a biology professor who kept two beautiful dogs, one a Ridgeback, if I recall correctly. He liked his dogs but was under no illusions about them. Their first purpose was protection and their second was emergency food supply. Some of his perspective was gained as a Jew escaping Germany in 1939.
