mayan 2012 predictions Mayans predictions that have come true to back up the 2012 theory?
Can anyone tell me some? I am neither sceptic or believer about 2012, but I want some validity to what I keep reading everywhere about the Mayans accurate predictions.
So can anyone tell me some of these?
Well the Mayans never predicted for anything to happen in 2012, so it doesn't really matter. It's the crackpots that make this rubbish big.
After viewing the History's Channel documentary on the "prediction" of 2012 I was left more confused than anything. Did the calendar just end or did the Mayans predict an apocalypse; and why the emphasis on this particular prophecy? People have predicted the end of the world forever but I will like to ask any experts who study the Mayans. Did the calendar just end or did the Mayans really predict an apocalypse?
Yeah I was wondering about all the books for sale, if you ahve that knowledge why sell it? It should be freely distributed.
The History Channel has become the "Ngao Si "(Chinese for "Bullshit") Channel to have higher ratings. The Mayans predicted nothing at all for 2012. Modern charlatans used the Mayan calendar to create a crude hoax. They chose an obscure calendar, because few people would know they lied outrageously about it. The Mayan calendar has many cycles, and Jose Arguelles claimed he learned when a 5000+ year cycle ended, but real Mayan scholars said his figures were wrong. Some say he predicted the end of the cycle was in 1999, but later charlatans moved that date ahead twice to 2003 and then 2012. In any case, the end of a calendar cycle is not the end of the calendar and is certainly not the end of the world. Much "ngao si" has been added to Jose Argelles' original hoax. I have seen a few people claim the Chinese calendar also ends in 2012. I am from China, so I laugh at such a ridiculous claim. 2012 will be Year 4710 on our Chinese calendar. Other say the I Ching predicts the end in 2012. That shows a huge misunderstanding of the I Ching. This is just more obscure item that few people understand used by cynical frauds to make money from books, a movie amd History channel TV shows about this absurd hoax. I think that all of the hoaxers should be sent to Tienamen Square for our Chinese army to punish.
