nostradamus predictions of the future Important question to ponder about our world's current status?
I wonder about the changes taking place in the world today. Even though I maintain a skeptic view towards astrological predictions or future predictions, i sometimes wonder how the world is taking shape towards what some people (like Nostradamus) preached about. Couple of years ago, i recall reading an article from Nostradamus's preachings which states that some crazy person from a country which no-one predicts to be a danger to the world, shows up and creates a nuclear havoc in the world. Having noticed today's world, i feel that Nostradamus's preachings (or whoever had written the article) is partly correct (or) about to be correct. Is there any common-sense in believing in such predictions? Does any other predictions came true in the past? Is there any scientific proof proving the statement above? Please include any (if possible your personal experiences with any such people) if it ever came true. I appreciate your reply. Thank you
Most "predictions" are so vague that they only appear at times to be credible in hindsight. A man once predicted that the New Madrid fault line was going to cause a major earthquake near St.Louis MO in the early 1990's. It did not happen, though scores of people prepared needlessly for it.
Some people believe in "predictions" such as Nostradamus' vague ramblings because it comforts them in some way to think that we can ..."somehow" prepare ourselves for those events which frighten us the most.
Sadly...we can not...
