2012 the end?Do you believe this?
Every few years a new prediction of doomsday appears only to pass uneventfully. Natural disasters have been with us since the beginning of time and will continue to happen. The only difference now is we have hyped news feeds 24/7 that make it appear that things are worse than they are. They are not. We live in a time of extraordinary international cooperation and prosperity.
The Mayans didn't predict any 'final day'. The calender is only restarting again.
Nostradomus also made predictions AFTER 2012. So, why would he have all of these other predictions after the supposed 'end of the world'? On another note, Nostradomus' predictions can be accounted for a multiple of things - look in his 'riddles'. You can find at least three different things to match the riddle. -.-
You are completely correct. Nostradamus' writings can mean the end of world, they can also be a really old recipe for beef stroganoff, or they can be detailed instructions for house training a polar bear. Natural disasters have indeed been with us since the beginning and each generation since the beginning was convinced that the end of the world was happening in their life time. From ancient Rome to today, humankind has been pointing at one leader or another and identifying them as the Antichrist and were convinced that The Apocalypse was right around the corner.
Every 12 years Christians get all excited about being beamed up in the "Rapture".
The so called Bible Code is also a bunch of crap. You can arrange just about any book and see anything from the words to a Grateful Dead song to the works of Shakespear.
Humans prove every few years that they have not evloved that far from the Cave. Look at the idiots who commited suicide because of the Hale Bopp Comet. I'm sure this sort of thing will be happening as 2012 approaches too. And the Media encourages panic and eats it up.
I live near Native American Reservations in California. Some of my associates are of the Aztec and Mayan race. They think that everyone who is scaring themselves about the Mayan Calendar ending on December of 2012 is funny and pathetic. The calendar shows the end of one Era and the Beginning of a new one. Nothing more.

ok this 2012 stuff as got me interested in this stuff.....what is this 2012 thing even about is it true or fiction or what????? and did the guy nostradomus predict 9/11 or if im right did he just say city of god and people came to the conclusion it was new york
Every single scientific perspective has been that 2012 is absolute fiction. Nostrodamus, if I remember correctly, said "the new city" in his prediction, but almost all other claims made by him are extremely vague. I wouldn't ever worry about 2012 being doomsday, because the claim itself was not created by the Mayans, but by the Westerners (that's us).
