predictions of end of the world How many end of the world predictions have...?
been told and then never happened?? And what happens to the people who come on tv and say it will, do they get embarrassed and spend the rest of their lives hiding. Do the people who stockpile on stuff to survive also go into hiding from embarrassment?
There have been hundreds if not thousands of end of the world predictions. Here is a list: http://www.abhota.info/end1.htm
After 21st December 2012 passes without incident, the people who predicted doom will be claiming that they never really said anything would happen and the people who stockpiled food or went to live in the mountains will say they never really believed it. Since most of the doomsday brigade are either seriously deluded or pathological liars, they will simply recycle their nonsensical predictions for another date. It has already been done. Nancy Lieder, with her imaginary Planet X, told us it would pass by and cause worldwide devastation in May 2003. Of course, not a thing happened so she said it was a 'white lie' to test the reaction of governments and changed the date to 2012. When it fails to appear in 2012 (as will certainly be the case) I wonder what new excuse will be cooked up. The one thing these people will never do is come out and say "Sorry. I was wrong. It's all made up."

End of the World
Are We Living In The End Times is a commentary put together by Dr. Alfred Adams author of the best selling book Nearing Midnight. Dr. Adams illuminates world events with the light of biblical prophecy. http://www.nearingmidnight.com
End Of The World
This article appeared on my Yahoo email alerts under the "antichrist" keyword. I thought it was interesting. It seems we aren't the only ones predicting that the end times are upon us. This columnist, Rush Button from the Times and Democrat, is picking up on all the talk of the "end of the world", and questions his readers could it be possible that we really are nearing the end of civilization as we know it? Most secular articles on the end times I have read so far ridicule the idea that this world is heading for Armageddon, and have even gone so far as to blame "fundamentalist Christians" for creating the problems in the Middle East. But Rush's article looks at the Mayan calendar which predicts the "end of the world" on December 21st 2012, astronomical events related to that date, the problems in the Middle East and picks up on what Christians are saying about it all...
Quote: "Government leaders are fraught with concern about the terrorism menace pouring from Middle East. Many Bible scholars and believers in Biblical prophesy feel that Israelis are on the brink of an all-out war with their Islamic neighbours. These scholars and believers are preparing for the Antichrist, Armageddon and the second coming of the Messiah. They say the end of the world will happen in the next few years. Could all of this be coincidental with an even more destructive force from the heavens? But perhaps it won't be the "end of the world" but rather the "end of the world as we know it." According to the Bible, Jesus is to return in the midst of the most horrifying war and annihilation of the human race that the world has ever seen, put an end to it all by defeating the armies of evil and establish His "Millennial Kingdom." Will this happen on December 21, 2012? God only knows ... but considering that fact, it might not be a bad idea to say your prayers.
I don't know if Rush is a Christian or was possibly brought up in a Christian home, but I can't fault his article. I hope it awakens people to their need of salvation. I'm not sure about the December 21st date though. As they say, the world ends every day for somebody. Why wait until December 21st to find out? The Bible says "now" is God's acceptable time for salvation (2nd Corinthians 6:2). Until the next commentary keep watching the sings.
