Have Jehovah's Witnesses made any predictions about the end of the world recently?
I know that the Jehovah's Witnesses church has made predictions about the Second Coming and the end of the world at least 4 times in their history (and has been wrong every single time). What is their current predictions on the End Times, if there are any?
The latest is
"The Time Left is Reduced" (latest assembly theme)
but
This is open ended but a promise nonetheless.
The Watch Tower has not given any closed prophecies since 1942 and 1975.
A 'closed prophecy' is a prediction giving a definite date or time frame
An 'open prophecy' is general and does not give a particular time frame.
1942 was explicitly pointed to as the beginning of the end. 1942 did not work out.
Starting in the mid 1960's the Watch Tower began to state the time is running out and by September/October 1975 great changes and the tribulation should/could begin. They discouraged furthering education and praised members giving up jobs and homes to further the work (of jeh hovah/Watch Tower).
This was as explicit as it gets.
This latest ""The Time Left is Reduced" is again firing up the JWs with sly promises. In the 1960's and early 1970's the slogans were "Stay Alive til '75" and "Why are You Looking Forward to 1975".
Now these appear to be "Stay Strong it Won't Be Long" and "The Time Left is Reduced".
When the JWs continue to follow the time proven false prophet, the Watch Tower, even with the evidence right before them is the practice of Cognitive Dissonance.
