Are you sure its not the end of the world in 2012 (question to do with the magnetic field)?
I've been reading that there are going to be violent solar storms in the next few years, but the earths magnetic field is weakening, and that doesn't sound like a good combination, especially as the magnetic field disappearing briefly a few years ago was abnormal. There are solar storms every 11 years, in the days of horse and carts, not a problem.
In the days of steam, petrol engines and jet engines, not a problem.
But in the days of computor controlled everything (today) maybe a big problem.
Modern automobile engines have computer cotrolled "Engine Management Systems" an engine may cut out during a storm.
Modern aircraft are no longer controlled by the pilot and there could be a problem there, 767s falling out of the sky.
Fortunately NASA gave out a warning last week, there is a system in place which will prevent loss of life. Here's how it works.
Special satellites calles Stereo watch the sun, when a big storm sends a SME (solar Mass Ejection) towards Earth NASA sends out an e-mail to airlines and they ground all the aircraft. the SME travels at about 2 million mph so we have about 48 hours to comply, and also turn off sensitive systems so that nothing is damaged.
That's all the warning was about, reminding management to watch out for the e-mails

I disagree with Mal777, so many people have been wrong, who would have thought that we could be talking from this far away just 15 years ago, even this was unheard of. Who would have thought that America would have become what it has, after all, we are one of the youngest nations compared to Russia and China….so in conclusion, I think that this many people could be wrong…
What else will happen…??
