Really the end of the world in 2012?
Will the world really end in 2012 as the Mayan Calender states?
The Mayan Long Count calendar clicks over from 12.19.19.17.19 to 13.0.0.0.0 on 21st December 2012. That's all there is to it. It's the same as our calendar changing from 1999 to 2000. Some people seem to think that this change 'must' be accompanied by some sort of disaster and have concocted all sorts of ridiculous predictions, every one of which is unscientific nonsense.
The Mayans said nothing about the end of the world. That's an invention by a bunch of crackpots.
