end of the world predictions Are there any false Nostradamus or end of the world predictions? 2012 discussion..?
my friend thinks that type of stuff is cool and we watched that new show airing on the histroy channel, he thinks its real and i dont buy into it....
now i will say alot of predictions that came true are def wierd, but is it all coincidence?
i dont believe it because of the 6/6/06 didnt happen, y2k didnt happen.....are there any other end of the world predictions that didnt happen?
also nostradamus has got a lot of vague predictions right, but there has to be some that are wrong....i think if some were wrong, that makes all his predictions lucky cause obviously some werent right
so i think the idea of 2012 being the end of the world is silly, either that..or really deep down im to afraid to admit im afraid of the reckoning thats about to happen
haha, anyways what do you guys out there think, and could you answer some of my questions?
thanks
Nostradamus' main role over the past 500 years seems to be as a war propaganda tool of various governments to whip the public's enthusiasm for various imperial crusades. He writes a lot a doom and gloom but why couldn't he have foreseen the CAUSES of these dire predictions? Like imperial crusades and unnecessary alliences. It would have been so much more helpful, don't you think?
People seem more interested in seeing dire prophecies take place than preventing them, as if they were some divine script to follow, or to be able to say "He was right!". If that is what prophecy is about, then it is not only useless, it is evil.

2012, Mayan Calendar predicts END of time! A HOAX? Is it? Do you believe the Mayan Prophecy? View!
2012 - The End of the World - Are You Prepared?
You may have heard about 2012 and the end of the world. You may already know something about it. But, are you prepared? Regardless of your belief in this doomsday prophecy, shouldn't you be prepared for any calamity you may encounter?
I saw the movie, 2012, and if this is what is in store for us, then you might as well kiss your tutu goodbye, if you have one. Personally, I cannot commit to a hardcore belief in this prophecy.
On the other hand, there is that lingering question, "What if it is true?" I cannot deny a feeling of uneasiness about the prediction. After all, the advocates of this event do make a case.
Some advocates see this event as cataclysmic. Others see it as a cleansing or a renewal. They do agree that something earth changing is imminent. What do we know?
We do know this:
The Mayan Long calendar ends on December 21, 2012, the winter solstice.
Many religions and past civilizations have predicted the end of the world around this period.
Every 26,000 years or so our Sun aligns itself with the center of the Milky Way, 2012 is that year.
Around this date, scientists forecast unusually high solar activity with potential negative consequences to the Earth.
Other well-known seers and prophets, like Edgar Cayce and Nostradamus, predict something is going to happen in this time.
Those that defend their belief in this prophecy refer to the poles shifting, worldwide climatic changes, other environmental changes, and a mysterious Planet X as evidence to support their belief. Their evidence is supported by both science and pseudo-science.
Whatever your inclination might be, it has made us all aware of Nature's unpredictability. Hurricane Katrina is a perfect example. How many people were prepared? Very few. Are you ready for whatever calamity may come your way?
You can prepare yourself in many ways. Knowledge is the first order of preparedness. Know what might be possible and act according to your own knowingness. Learning about December 21, 2012 is no different.
Decide for yourself. Is 2012 the end of the world? Prepare for the possibilities. Why not be prepared and arm yourself with knowledge?

I am quite sure every Muslim has embarrassed Islam at one point or another because after all, none but Allah is perfect, but I didn't see in here where you explained how he embarassed Islam but only part about why he embraced it (or allegedly did, whichever is actually true).
Edit: Oh, embrassed is typo for embraced not embarrassed, I misunderstood. Oh well, misunderstandings are common in human communication, especially so across cultures. In that case, my answer is, no, I did not know that, thanks for sharing.
