Do you think all the hype about 2012 will become a self prophecy?
With all the hype we have had on television and the movies about 2012 being the end of the world, do you think it will cause people to panic and start to act crazy near the end of that year? Might people start rioting and looting if they think they are going to die? Could we be causing a huge problem by talking about this all the time?
I think there are A LOT of people out there that believe most of what they see on TV. I also think as 2012 gets nearer, there will be more talk about this prophecy on TV. We have a lot of religious fanatics in this country, and there will probably be many that will believe this prophecy. (Or at least will be very worried about it). Yes, nothing happened in the Y2K thing, but I remember people everywhere were really freaked out about it. Many people were stocking up on food and cash. It will be interesting to see how people are acting near the end of that year, and how much will be said in the media about it.
I personally don't believe in this stuff, but I do believe the media has a huge impact on people in this country.
